天津市第二南开学校位于天津市和平区荣安大街167号,西邻南门外大街,东邻荣业大街,建筑面积四万多平方米,设施齐备,环境优雅,庭院式的校园建筑风貌营造出学校质朴、端庄、大气的整体氛围。

学校始建于1923年,前身为南开中学女中部,后更名为天津市第七女子中学、天津医科大学附属中学、东方红中学。学校与南开中学、南开大学、重庆南开中学、自贡曙光中学共同形成南开系列学校,党的十一届三中全会以后,学校的教育教学事业得以恢复和发展,1978年学校被确定为天津市首批办好的市级重点中学。随着改革开放的深入发展和国际交往的需要,1985年在海内外校友的强烈要求下,经天津市人民政府批准,学校正式更名为天津市第二南开中学,并由当时全国政协副主席赵朴初先生题写了校名。1992年、2001年学校两次列入《中国名校》。2015年学校成立小学部,更名为第二南开学校,这标志着第二南开学校又进入了全面发展的新阶段。

近年来,学校秉承“允公允能,日新月异”校训的同时,积淀形成了“培育关键能力,成就未来公民”的办学理念。学校注重学生的全面发展与个性培养,遵循人才成长发展的规律,挖掘学生的一切潜能,让核心素养在学校落地生根。学校始终拥有一支师德高尚、治学严谨、业务精湛的教师队伍。二南开人勇于创新,乐于实践,不断地进行教育教学改革,积极探索新型育人模式和教学模式,并取得了显著成效。

Preface

 

The Second Nankai School is located at No.167 in Heping District, facing Nanmenwai street on it west side, and Rongye Road to the east. It occupies 4,0000 square meters and is equipped with a wide variety of teaching facilities. Its elegant surroundings and court yarded construction style deliberately create a dignified atmosphere on campus.

Our school is founded in 1923, which grew out of the female section of Nankai Middle School, and was once named as The No. 7 Girl School, The Affiliated Middle School to Tianjin Medical University, and the Red East Middle School. We are in Nankai series, together with another four sister schools, namely Nankai Middle School, Nankai University, Chongqing Nankai Secondary School, and Zigong Shuguang Middle School. After the Third Plenary Session of Eleventh Central Committee, more attention was given back to the education and our school was first nominated as the model schools of the city of Tianjin in 1978. Since we need to develop profoundly and cooperate internationally, strongly recommended by some overseas graduates, under the official approval, our school changed its name into the Second Nankai Middle School in 1985. Zhaopuchu, who was once the Vice chairman of the CPPCC inscribed the name for us. Over decades of years’ development, we were listed as the “Acknowledged School in China” twice, in 1992 and 2001. In 2015 we established a primary section and therefore the school name has been changed again into The Second Nankai School, which marking a brand new start for our future.

Nowadays while sticking to the belief that “Dedication to public interests, Acquisition of all-round capability, and Aspiration for progress with each day, we are consistently shaping our mind on the educating  philosophy to focus more on the key abilities so as to achieve a capable future. In order to explore all the potentials of students and make core competence root in their heart, we pay more attention to students’ all-round development and obey the law of the development nature. The faculty of our school is moral in their daily performance, devoted to work whole-heartedly, and excellent in their academic research field. Being willing to innovate, to practice, to reform and to challenge ourselves all the time, we are engaged a lot in the research of teaching strategy and the way of fostering full-developed personality, and achieved a lot in that case as a whole.

We are recognized sophisticatedly of its rich traditions, lively learning interest and flexible teaching styles. Many graduates are admitted to some famous universities, such as Peking University, Fudan University, Renmin University of ChinaNankai University and etc. We are devoted to cultivating the excellent personalities who are rich in knowledge, tenacious of Purposeinquiring with earnestness and reflecting with self-practice.

The focus of establishing its culture and educating philosophy is a must for the development of our school, and is the inner spirit of the faculty and the student body, which is also the basis of our being distinctive and energetic, and is the key to keeping developing. The philosophy of its culture development is formed among the practice of leaders and all the teachers and students. The book namedThe Culture Strategy Outline of  The Second Naikai Schoolis written and operated among all aspects of the teaching staff. It is produced out of the wisdom as well as the hard-working through generations, which is the process of inheriting what is good, being involved in what is important, and meaning to develop what is essential. Meanwhile it offers us an access to the stage of culture management, making all the teachers and students involved in the various culture projects and achieve enrichment at the same time. It is a work which benefits the present and has profound effect on the future.  

   At present, the Second Nankai School has already formed its sound teaching system, and the combination of its both eastern and western teaching style seems to be growing. Now we have realized the symbiosis between teachers and students and set up a complementary system to cooperate with most of the parents. Our students are self-initiated, self-disciplined, and self-improved. our teachers are broad-minded, blessed with a healthy body and a happy life. Out looking to the future, our Second Nankai School can certainly fulfill its great idea of educating a capable person with a strong sense of community through  never-ending changes and improvement and strive to be one of the internationally remarkable schools desperately.
